2. Collection and use of your data
The scope and type of collection and use of your personal data differs depending on whether you visit our website only to retrieve information or to make use of any services offered by us.
If we use other (IT) service providers for individual functions of our offer or would like to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail below about the respective processes (all data processing). We will also state the specified criteria for the storage period and the applicable legal basis for data processing.

a. Informational use
For the informational use of our websites, we only collect the personal data that your browser automatically transmits to us, such as:

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (specific page)
  • The amount of data transferred and the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • Website from which the request comes
  • Browser type / version / language
  • Operating system and its interface
  • Language and version of your browser.

Storage duration:
The storage duration of this data (logs) is 14 days.
Legal basis(s) for data processing:
The above-mentioned data is technically necessary to display our websites to you and to ensure stability and security, in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

b. Inquiries by e-mail, post, telephone or fax
If you contact us by e-mail, post, telephone or fax, your request and the personal data contained therein will be processed by the persons authorized to do so for the purpose of processing your request.
Storage duration:
We process and store the data until the purpose of the processing has been fulfilled and statutory retention obligations (generally 10 years retention period) do not prevent this or you have effectively objected to the processing.
Legal basis for data processing:
Your data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR if your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in processing inquiries.

3. Use of cookies
We use cookies for our websites. Cookies are small text files that are sent to your browser by our web server when you visit our website and are stored on your computer for later retrieval. They are used to make the website more user-friendly and effective overall.
Cookies can basically be divided into two categories:
Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. These include session cookies in particular. These store a so-called session ID, with which various requests from your browser can be assigned to the joint session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to the website. The session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.
Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser's security settings.
You can configure your browser settings according to your wishes and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. However, we would like to point out that you may then not be able to use all the functions of this website.

4. Web anaylsis by Matomo (formerly PIWIK)
a. Scope of the processing of personal data
We use the open source software tool Matomo (formerly PIWIK) on our website to analyze the surfing behavior of our users. The software places a cookie on the user's computer (for cookies, see above). If individual pages of our website are accessed, the following data is stored:

  • Two bytes of the IP address of the user's accessing system
  • Date and time the page was accessed
  • The website accessed (title and URL)
  • The website from which the user accessed the website (referrer)
  • The subpages that are accessed from the accessed website
  • The time spent on the website
  • The frequency with which the website is accessed
  • Screen resolution
  • Time according to the visitor's time zone
  • Files that were clicked on and downloaded
  • Links to external websites that were clicked on
  • Page generation time (the time it took to generate and display the page)
  • Visitor's location: country, region, city, approximate latitude and longitude (geoposition) based on internet access point
  • Main language of the browser
  • User agent of the browser

The software runs exclusively on the servers of our website. The user's personal data is only stored there. The data is not passed on to third parties. The software is set so that the IP addresses are not stored in full, but 2 bytes of the IP address are masked (e.g.: 192.168.xxx.xxx). In this way, it is no longer possible to assign the shortened IP address to the calling computer.

b. Legal basis for the processing of personal data
The legal basis for the processing of users' personal data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

c. Purpose of the data processing
The processing of users' personal data enables us to analyze the surfing behavior of our users. By evaluating the data obtained, we are able to compile information about the use of the individual components of our website. This helps us to constantly improve our website and its user-friendliness. These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in processing the data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. By anonymizing the IP address, the interest of users in the protection of their personal data is sufficiently taken into account.

d. Duration of storage
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for our recording purposes.
In our case, this is the case after 6 months.

e. Possibility of objection and removal
Cookies are stored on the user's computer and transmitted by it to our website. As a user, you therefore have full control over the use of cookies. You can deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings in your Internet browser. Cookies that have already been saved can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. If cookies are deactivated for our website, it may no longer be possible to use all functions of the website to their full extent.
We offer our users the option of opting out of the analysis process on our website. To do this, you must follow the corresponding link. In this way, another cookie is set on your system, which signals our system not to store the user's data. If the user deletes the corresponding cookie from their own system in the meantime, they must set the opt-out cookie again.
You can decide here whether a unique web analysis cookie may be stored in your browser to enable the operator of the website to collect and analyze various statistical data.

5. Integrated services
In order to design our websites and provide additional functions, we integrate the following external services in our own interest.

a. Cookiebot
This website uses a so-called cookie consent tool to obtain consent for cookies and cookie-based applications that require consent. By integrating a corresponding JavaScript code, a banner is displayed to users when they visit our website, in which consent for certain cookies and/or cookie-based applications can be given by ticking a box.
The cookie consent tool blocks the setting of all cookies requiring consent until the respective users give their consent by ticking the appropriate box. This ensures that such cookies are only set on the user's device if consent has been granted.
So that the cookie consent tool can clearly assign page views to individual users and individually record, log and store the consent settings made by the user for a session duration, certain usage information, as described in the server log files and including the IP address, is transmitted to the cookie consent tool server and stored there when our website is accessed by the cookie consent tool.For more details, please refer to the information provided in the cookie consent tool.

Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c) GDPR in conjunction with § Section 25 para. 2 no. 2 TTDSG. The legal obligation is to obtain consent to the processing of personal data and to document this there.

6. Presence on social media platforms
We have an online presence on the social networks and platforms listed below (e.g. fan pages or employer rating portals). These social networks and platforms are operated exclusively by the respective provider, which means that there is a so-called joint responsibility in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR.
When you visit our social media pages, your user data is collected and provided to us by the provider. The exact types of data differ from provider to provider, but generally include the following information:

  • Followers: Number and stored profiles; information on growth and development over a defined time frame.
  • Reach: Number of people who see a specific post; number of interactions with a post. This can be used, for example, to determine which content is better received by the community than others.
  • Ad performance: How many people were reached with a post or paid ad and interacted with it?
  • Demographics: Average age of visitors, gender, place of residence, language.

As our social media channels are operated by the providers of the respective social network, your personal data may also be used by them, over which we have no influence. This often involves the collection of your IP address, the creation of static evaluations and the processing of further information stored in the form of cookies. Sometimes your activities are assigned to a direct profile. This data is often also used to show you interest-based advertising within and outside the platforms. As the operator, we have no influence on the generation and display of this data and cannot deactivate this function or prevent the processing of the data.
We use the social media channels to communicate with customers, interested parties and users and for the purpose of advertising and market research. If you contact us via our social media channels, we process the data that you provide to us as well as the data that is necessary to process the request (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). Further data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR due to our legitimate interest in direct communication with users and optimizing the design of our online presence. Insofar as you have given your consent to the operators of the respective social media platforms (e.g. via a checkbox opt-in), the processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can revoke your consent to the provider of the respective platform at any time with effect for the future.
We delete your collected data after the purpose has been fulfilled.
The assertion of data subject rights and requests for information can be most effectively addressed directly to the providers of the platforms, as only they have access to your data and can take immediate action. If our cooperation is required for this, we will support you in enforcing your data subject rights if necessary.
Below you will find the network providers used. If data is processed outside the EU, we have taken the necessary measures to ensure that the level of data protection is maintained (usually by concluding EU standard data protection clauses). 7. Processing of your personal data in countries outside the EU and the EEA (third countries)
Your personal data will not be processed in countries outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. If data is transferred to a third country through individual services, we will point this out in the individual data processing operations.

8. Your rights
You have the following rights vis-à-vis us with regard to your personal data:

a. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

b. Right of objection and revocation
If you have given your consent to the processing of your data, you can withdraw this at any time. Such a revocation affects the permissibility of the processing of your personal data after you have given it to us.
Insofar as we base the processing of your personal data on the balancing of interests (legal basis is then Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR), you can object to the processing. This is the case if the processing is in particular not necessary for the performance of a contract with you, which is addressed by us in the explanation of the individual data processing and functions on our websites further up in this privacy policy. When exercising such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data as we have done. 9. Data processing when accessing linked content
This privacy policy only applies to this app. If you are redirected to other pages via links within the app, please inform yourself there about the respective handling of your data.
The app may also contain external links or hyperlinks to websites of other providers. These are to be distinguished from our own content. This third-party content does not originate from us, nor do we have any influence over the content of third-party sites.
When you select an external link or hyperlink, you will be redirected to the website of the third-party provider. In this case, we cannot guarantee the confidential handling of your data or compliance with data protection regulations by these external providers. The responsibility in this regard lies solely with the respective website provider.

10. Data security
We also use technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data that is generated or collected, in particular against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or attack by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
The transmission of your personal data is encrypted using SSL technology (https) to prevent access by unauthorized third parties.

a. Communication by e-mail
Our e-mail systems support encrypted communication using SSL technology (TLS 1.2 incl. PFS). The transmission of your e-mail can therefore always be encrypted. Please note, however, that encryption also depends on the configuration of your e-mail program and that we are therefore unable to guarantee complete data security for the transport route.
