Press Trip of Japanese Journalists to Germany

From 29 September to 2 October 2025, a group of Japanese journalists visited Berlin and the surrounding region for a four-day press trip, titled "Germany's Energy Transition and Policy under the New Government".

The programme provided participants with a comprehensive overview of German energy policy, focusing on key topics shaping the transition: offshore wind development, hydrogen ramp-up initiatives, the urban heating transition with geothermal energy, and strategies for decarbonising industry.

During the visit, the journalists engaged with a wide range of experts from government, industry, research institutions, and civil society. These interactions highlighted the many synergies between Germany’s and Japan’s approaches to the energy transition, emphasising the value of mutual learning and collaboration in tackling global energy challenges.
